Tomball Shower for Dan and Kim

Thanks so much to our Tomball friends for showering Dan and Kim with well wishes, gifts, and Texas BBQ ! We had a great time in Tomball, at the Spring Creek Bar-B-Q Restaurant on Sat., December 12 where a couples shower was held for Dan and Kim. They were overwhelmed with love and gifts from so many of our friends and family. Thanks so much to those who planned this shower and coordinated everything to make it happen. Thanks to everyone who came to the shower which made it so special for us.
We love you all so much!

Scenes from Christmas 2010

We had a great Christmas this year in Ruston, Louisiana! Ruston of course is "home" to me and Fletcher, and the kids still remember when we lived there as a family. The Scott and Gullatt Grandparents still live there so there are lots of places to sleep! We turn their homes into "mini" hotels! And the food is always the best! I need to give a big THANK YOU to "Grandma" Vernaughn and "Memaw", my Mother, for doing all of the cooking! We had Christmas dinner twice, so you know what that means, double dressing and double desserts! Yummy!! I have never made the cornbread dressing because my Mother and Mother-in-law make it so well, and I know I could never make it as well as they can. So, I am very grateful for all the effort that goes into the shopping and preparing of these delicious meals. I usually try to help out with the dishes after dinner, and sometimes I get to help a little with the cooking, but not too much. We love spending time with our Parents/Grandparents at their homes in Ruston, and we love being all together there for a few days.
Here are a few "scenes" from Christmas of 2010!

Snow Days in Bentonville!

Job 37:6-7 (NIV)
He says to the snow, `Fall on the earth,' and to the rain shower, `Be a mighty downpour.' [7] So that all men he has made may know his work, he stops every man from his labor.

The snow is a reminder of God's undeniable power!
From: the Student Bible NIV Daybreak Calendar, January 20

I had a sneaky suspicion that God had teachers and students in mind when he gave us surprise Snow Days, but this verse verifies that it's given to everyone as a reminder of God's sovereign power, as we pause in wonder of the beauty and peacefulness of a snowy landscape. Gotta love a Snow Day at any age!
